Congratulations! We would like to invite you to be a part of Team Playwrights Horizons for the 2026 United Airline Half Marathon! Please review the below contract and agree to the following:
Participation & Safety
I understand that I am voluntarily fundraising for Playwrights Horizons as a runner in the 2026 United Airlines Half Marathon on March 15, 2026 in New York City
I recognize that participating in the Half Marathon (“the Event”) can be physically demanding. I will only participate if I am medically able and properly trained. I agree to follow all decisions made by race officials regarding my safety.
I certify that to the best of my knowledge I am in good health and will conduct myself responsibly throughout the Event. I accept all risks associated with running, including falls, contact with other participants, weather, traffic, and road conditions.
For myself and anyone acting on my behalf, I release Playwrights Horizons, its employees, Trustees, representatives, successors, the City of New York, race sponsors, and all associated entities from any claims related to my participation, even if caused by negligence.
I understand that this agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York and subject to the jurisdiction of New York City courts.
Registration Commitment
I understand that a non-refundable $250 deposit is required to join the Playwrights Horizons team and is due by December 20, 2025, payable to Playwrights Horizons. This deposit counts toward my $2,500 minimum fundraising commitment. If NYRR cancels the Event for any reason, the deposit remains non-refundable.
Fundraising Commitment
I agree to raise a minimum of $2,500 for Playwrights Horizons.
By January 25, 2026: I will have raised at least 50% of my personal fundraising goal but no less than $1,250.00.
By March 31, 2026: I will have raised my full fundraising goal, but no less than $2,500.00.
If I have not met the $2,500 minimum by March 31, 2026, I understand that any remaining balance will be charged to my credit card. Playwrights Horizons may check in with me about my progress leading up to race day.
I agree that all individual donations must be collected through the Haku fundraising page provided by Playwrights Horizons. Corporate matching gifts are accepted and encouraged.
In addition to the aforementioned donation to Playwrights Horizons, I agree to register with New York Road Runners (NYRR) and pay the 2026 NYRR entry fee ($135 for members, $160 for non-members), which is non-refundable.
I understand that Playwrights Horizons determines how all donations are used and that all contributions must comply with their gift acceptance policy.
Withdrawal & Cancellation
Playwrights Horizons may withdraw my charity entry if I do not meet fundraising or registration requirements or if I become unresponsive.
If I withdraw or cannot complete the Event for any reason, I will consider deferring to a future race but I understand that am still responsible for fulfilling the full $2,500 fundraising commitment this year.
Liability, Indemnification & Media Release
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Playwrights Horizons and its representatives from any expense or liability connected to my participation. I waive any claims for injury or property damage related to the Event.
I grant permission for Playwrights Horizons to use photos, video, or other media of me from the Event for promotional purposes.
